The text above the Course Menu is known as a breadcrumb navigation or trail. Breadcrumbs locate the current page in the navigation path. They also allow you to click on text to go to a specific page that is listed in the breadcrumb.
Click on the links on the left for more details about navigation, using tools, and customizing the interface.
Use the forward and back arrows on the top right of the Table of Contents window to navigate through the course content. A set of forward and back arrows are also available on the top right of the content window.
The Discussion Board is a tool for sharing thoughts and ideas about class materials. In courses which include Discussions they are accessible from the Course Menu. You can learn more about Discussion Board by going to the following link:

Tests & Quizzes
Assessments in the form of tests, quizzes, or surveys may be used in your course. You may be able to access them from the Tests & Quizzes link in the Course Menu or from the course content. You can learn more about Assessments by going to the following link:

The Assignments tool is used to present a variety of learning activities to you as a student, allowing you to view and submit assignments from one location. You can learn more about assignments by going to the following links:

In some online courses you may be graded on assignments, discussions, tests or quizzes. Your grades can be accessed from either the Course Menu or from the Home page. You can learn more about Grades by going to the following link:

Email and Messages
Some online courses may have the Email tool available for you to use. You can access it from the Course Menu if you need to email to your instructor or classmate. You can learn more about the Email tool by going to the following link:

Hide/Show Course Menu
The Course Menu can be hidden if you would like to have more space on your screen to view the Blackboard course content. When you would like to have access to the Course Menu, then it can be switched to show the Course Menu.
Hover between the Course Menu and the main content area then click on the left arrow which appears. This will collapse the Course Menu in order to hide it.
Hover your mouse on the left edge of the main content screen, then click on the right arrow which appears. This will expand the Course Menu so you can access it.
Customizing the Learning Module Table of Contents
You can use the Learning Module Table of Contents for navigation by clicking on the back and forward arrows as mentioned in the Navigation section. You can also click on the titles of items to go to that content page.
By using the icons on the top left of the Table of Contents, it can be collapsed, minimized to or moved to the bottom or left of the screen. For more information about the Learning Module and how to move the Table of Contents area go to the following link:
