Award Categories

• Excellence in Prevention or Mitigation
• Awareness and Training Outreach initiatives to:
  • Business
  • Government
  • Health Care
  • Schools
  • Public
  • Innovation
• New Technology Application
• Non Profit Agency or Volunteer Group Initiative

Criteria

• Developed and implemented an innovative approach that supports emergency/disaster preparedness
• Program is operational
• Innovation has improved the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization
• Resulted in significant and positive outcome for emergency preparedness

Other Requirements

• The recipient of the award will make a short presentation outlining specific aspects of their initiative
• Information related to projects, which are selected, and those that are nominated may be shared with other emergency management practitioners.

Nomination Process

Taking into consideration the Categories and Criteria, all interested parties are to complete and forward the Nomination Form by September 17th 2010 to:

The Award Selection Committee will review and, as required, seek additional information to support the nomination.

The Award Selection Committee will determine award winners.
